Welcome

VASTE aims to facilitate access to ICT training in Malta and Gozo, in order to assist vulnerable people including persons with disability to acquire basic ICT skills in order to facilitate their entry in employment and improve their ICT knowledge. The programme is made up of four modules as showcased below.

Module 1: Computers and peripherals

The aim of this module is to provide vulnerable individuals, including individuals with a disability, with the practical knowledge to identify and use computers and various peripherals including the printer, scanner, mouse and keyboard. Furthermore, learners are demonstrated the correct practices and habits to adapt to work with computers safely, using simple principles of ergonomics.

Module 2: The Microsoft Windows desktop environment

The Microsoft Windows desktop environment The aim of this module is to provide learners with the ability to navigate and use the Microsoft Windows operating system, specifically the desktop environment and to work with files and folders. Furthermore, learners are demonstrated how to find and open programs and how to save and open documents.

Module 3: The Internet and email

The aim of this module is to provide learners with the ability to navigate and use the Internet browser and use a search engine to make queries. Furthermore, learners are demonstrated how to set up an email account and send and receive email and how to navigate useful community web portals, including the Jobsplus, FITA, Agenzija Sapport and Public Transport web portals.

Module 4: Microsoft Word and the Europass web portal

The aim of this module is to provide learners with the ability to navigate and use Microsoft Word to create and edit documents and prepare a Curriculum Vitae and Cover Letter. Furthermore, learners are demonstrated how to navigate and use the Europass web portal to prepare a Curriculum Vitae using the built-in application.
